The Memphis Police Department requires all interested applicants to have at least had 54 semester hours from a regionally accredited college or university. The minimum average grade has to be C, while for military personnel, two years continuous service with honorable discharge are a must. The physical training requires you to run 1.5 miles in 15 minutes or less, and a comprehensive physical agility test will be required too. The Nashville Police Department follows the guidelines imposed by the state for anyone wishing to join its ranks.
